Station House

Low-density housing above Brading Marshes, St Helens

Faced with the challenge of converting a historically and ecologically sensitive site near a railway station into viable housing, we found development density severely limited by complex topography and drainage.

Our design strategy subverted these financial constraints by prioritising quality and landscape integration. We allowed the site's ecology and views to define the aesthetic, resulting in a low-density, 'contemporary country' development.

Each unit is strategically oriented to maximise private views over the marshland, ensuring the architecture is entirely informed by its unique environment.
